Ok, I goofed. Here's the deal...if you are logged in on facebook and do a google search of yourself, the result will show up that there's something written about you on "AboutEveryone.com."

I did just that. I saw that and panicked. Then I wrote comments to defend myself.

Issues:

1. You're under the impression that anonymous comments have been written or will be wrote. Thus, you'll panic and pay the fee. This gives internet punk extortionist kid Chris Poole the $$$.

"I'm a punk extortionist who can take advantage of people's panic to get money."

2. The second problem is that Facebook and Google are allowing the AboutEveryone.com search result to come up.

So what's it gonna take to fix these two problems? Someone committing suicide? A murder?

Geez, I flipped out. I went Erin Brockovich on this business. But now I know, and I feel like a fool.

Chris Poole needs to be charged though because people are falling for this.

This site is an anonymous posting page. You can type in a facebook or twitter profile, and then find out what people have anonymously said about you. Then, the site says if you pay $19.99, you can have your stuff removed.

Now, when I naively looked myself up, it said I'm cheating, cannot be trusted, and to "be aware." I panicked and defended myself. Then I looked to see if there was a Page about it on Facebook.

Here is that page:

At this time, it only has 340 members.

I posted about my "comments." Then, many other people posted that they had the exact same comments. I also found a link to the ic3.gov page to file a complaint, which I did.

There's another problem. The owner is Chris Poole. I don't know if this is true, but I have read that he has a good relationship with Facebook AND ic3.gov, which then essentially makes it really difficult, if not impossible, to get this off the internet.

This website is a problem in so many ways. Personal rights, privacy, extortion, ruining of reputations, bullying, relationships, etc. It is downright evil.

Please LIKE this Page on Facebook...let's get AboutEveryone.com off the internet!

Over the past several months, I got really caught up in consumerism, couponing, magazines, beauty products and samples, commercial emails, commercial Facebook and Twitter feeds, store loyalty cards, spending what I don't have, the whole works. And I bet a lot of people, especially women, with access to the internet and a lot of time on their hands are doing the same thing.

If you think you have a problem, choose to stop. It's a vicious cycle...for me, one thing led to another and I got trapped in this empty hole of consumerism. There are so many other important things in life...not getting the latest free sample at Sephora. Or driving out of your way to get some good deals at CVS. Or buying more than one newspaper just to get the coupons.

I mean, if you think you're ok with your spending and couponing and the strategies or whatever, that's fine. But if it TAKES OVER YOUR WHOLE LIFE, then you have a serious problem. And I learned that the hard way.

I hope this post reaches out to someone so they can realize, as I did, how vicious this cycle is and that we did in fact have lives before this madness.

9/11 Remembered, Personally

I had graduated high school in May. I had just dropped out of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO after 10 days. I was back home, doing not much of anything, and trying to figure out what to do next.

The night leading into September 11, 2001, I slept on the couch. Still living at home, I still tend to do this about once a week. Some nights it just feels better to sleep on the couch.

A little after 9 AM, my dad woke me up. He said something like "terrorists got New York City." I didn't know what he meant. I turned on the TV and saw the images of the World Trade Center. I immediately turned away and said "Oh my god, I can't watch. Turn it off!" Then I lied down and reflected on what happened for about 20 minutes. I had to accept that it happened.

After my reflection, I turned on the television again and watched the coverage for about two hours. And I knew life in this country would be forever changed.

Later that day I remember a traffic jam coming into New Haven because there was a huge line at the gas station. I also remember wanting to "do something," so I heard there would be a prayer service at St. Paul's in Berger, MO, but I got there an no one was there and the door was locked. So I went back to the church in New Haven, Assumption, and lit a candle, and sat and prayed. A woman came in with her little boy, and they did the same.

I'm trying to think of a profound conclusion for me personally, on that day. I guess ten years later, I'm still sad that it happened and hearing stories of people who lost someone that day get me choked up. The images are still scary. Yet, as I did during the time after I saw those images, I think this is a time for reflection. Reflection of ourselves. Am I a better person than I was on 9/11/01? I'd say so...not because of the day itself, but because I grew up and lived life, with the rest of my nation. And that's why I'm here...to live life to the fullest.

Let us reflect.

So, I discovered when my parents had on "Two and a Half Men" that there already was a funeral episode, with Charlie being dead. However, he was having some sort of hallucination at another funeral...whoever's character Emilio Estevez was playing (didn't catch who he was on the show). I suppose my ideal ending to the show would sort of be redundant since it already happened. I honestly did not know they did that show.

Now...

It's Friday. Friday. Gotta get down on Friday. And I'm down today because the Youtube video for "Friday" by Rebecca Black is gone. I'm not quite sure why...heard a couple different reasons.

You ever hear a song or listen to a CD and hate it at first, but then you listen to it and it grows on you? That's what happened with me and "Friday." Hated it at first...thought, what the heck?? Her voice is, um, young? (to put it nicely) But when I watched it for the humorousness of it, I started to like it. Then every Friday I'd go to Youtube and watch the video...it was a tradition. I'm sad they pulled it, but I guess it was inevitable with all the drama around it.

I do not think it is the worst song ever. I think it's catchy and feel-good. I think Rebecca Black has a lot of potential. She's beautiful for her age. When I was 13 I was comparable to Meg Griffin on Family Guy. I think in time her voice will blossom. Shoot, I listen to old tapes of myself around that age and I sound ridiculous.

So all I'm saying is...give her time...I think she's going to really make it.

My Two and a Half Cents on Two and a Half Men

So today we learned Ashton Kutcher will be the new guy on "Two and a Half Men." This simply is not going to work. I predict the show will bomb completely. I can't see Jon Cryer and Angus being compatible with whatever douche-bag character they come up with for Ashton. It's going to bomb completely. Here's what they should have done:

Have ONE last episode WITHOUT Charlie Sheen. Have Charlie Harper be killed off in one last wild event. The cast would go to the funeral...Charlie's old flames would show up...but Alan would admit to Charlie's casket that he lied about not having any money...he had enough to live on his own the whole time. He was afraid of being lonely and wanted to get to know his brother (I think this would work...there would be things to explain obviously...as for this actually working, for me it's hard to remember Alan's exact story at the beginning of the series). This would be the end...no Ashton crap, and Alan comes clean. The end.

Blockbuster: Wow What A Difference

I wrote this as part of a survey I took from Blockbuster...I liked it so much I saved it and here it is:

Well, this past visit was the last time I'd ever be at that store because it is closing. It's getting replaced by a Blockbuster kiosk inside QuikTrip. The nearest Blockbuster is about a 20 minute drive away.

I have always enjoyed going to the Eureka, Missouri Blockbuster and I will truly miss it. I hope all the employees get either transferred or some sort of due compensation, because every worker there did a fine job, especially [Name Removed].

I am also disappointed in this store's closing because I was hoping for years that one would open up in Washington, Missouri, which is closer to where I live. That most likely will not happen now that the Eureka one, the closest one, will be gone.

I know times are tough, money is gone. But a kiosk is not a store. Getting rentals in the mail is ok, but it's not getting out and going to a store. Digital downloading is pretty much where everything is going, and anyone can do that from home, even for free. I guess the thing I like about going to a physical store is that I get an experience out of it. A person to person interaction at the checkout. It makes the movie rental something special...a delight, and something to look forward to. What is there to anticipate when you're looking at a computer downloading your file? Just the movie. Everything else taken away. Impersonal. Disposable.

If anything, I want you to know I appreciate getting out of the house, driving to the store, looking around in a store and taking it all in, getting in line (with people), being courteously checked out (by a person), and driving home to watch something special from a special place. It's an experience - it's called life. With stores closing, I wonder, where is it really going?

No, not because of cash, debit cards, or credit cards, but because of retail store rewards cards or customer cards. Also Casino cards. Maybe, someday, when I'm in a career and can afford it, and own an iPhone or similar device, I can just whip that out and all my current wallet madness will be digitalized on there. Until then, I might have to get an even bigger wallet for all these cards.

Long Time, No Blog!

Happy 2011! My my it's been too long! Where to begin?

I rang in the New Year with a show at The Blue Note in Columbia, MO with Mark. The band was The Record Collector. Fun time.
The next day we saw Black Swan. Although it was very artfully done, I think this was the most over-hyped movie I've seen in a long time. And every time Mila Kunis spoke I couldn't help but think of Meg Griffin. I'm probably not the only one.
The next day, January 2, we celebrated our two year anniversary...I can barely believe it's already been two years. Time flies when you're having fun! These have been the best two years ever, thanks to Mark. Where would I be without him? ("I remember losing myself and finding you had found me" - from Peter Hammill's "Vision." Have you heard of Peter Hammill? Look him up...he's only a musical god)
Last semester I made B's in both classes I took at Meramec. B's get degrees!
This semester I will be taking Graphic Design IV - the highest level GD class at Meramec. Will I go forward? Still thinking about it...
My friend Jessica from high school had her baby, Olivia Anne, on December 18. She is adorable and the family is doing well.
Still in the perpetual job hunt. If anyone with any hiring power reads this: I'm searching! I'm looking! You should hire me because I'm a team player, I'm flexible, and I enjoy taking on new projects!
I'll even post a Fall 2010 student portfolio soon. That's a start.

They're Japanese. And they sing in Japanese. Here's what happened at the concert last week:

The female guitar player sang a nice slow song with minimal instrumentation. It was pretty, even though I did not know what she was singing. However, even through my ear plugs, I could hear the crowd talking over her. Which was rather rude.

The song ends. The band plays a song, but the female is kneeling on the floor doing something. From where we were standing we could not really see what she was doing. The song then turns into a ten minute blaring of a singular note. A screech. It got to me after about five minutes. I went into the lobby, eyes closed, ears held. That note lasted a good ten minutes, and when it was over, the crowd let out a cry of relief.

My theory is the female singer got angry and thus punished the crowd with the ten minute screech.

I ended up in the ladies room, which thankfully had a bench, and I was asked by two women if I was ok. I told them I just needed a break, which was true. It's nice to know there are still good people in the world.

I made it back into the concert, and after it was over, Mark and I went and had a well-deserved drink.

I will never forget the screech.

Too Long!

Well it's been a long time since I posted something on my blog. So here's what's shakin'...

My run working for the US Census is over. It was quite an experience. A good experience. I can't really get into the details, but I have gained a renewed sense of confidence in dealing with people. Everyone basically where I went was pretty nice...I guess I got lucky because I've heard stories where the Census worker was not treated so nicely. Yes, there were a couple tense incidents, but all and all, I think I handled myself well and did a good job.
I am going back to Meramec. This fall I'm taking Graphic Design III and Drawing for Graphics I. I'm excited, but at the same time, a little worried that my creativity is on the low side. My left-brain has been in overdrive! But, since the library science plan didn't work out, I think this is the route to go. I know the programs (granted, CS3) and I did minor in art. I heard recently that creativity develops from how you live. It's a lifestyle. Time to take some pictures.
The day after my birthday (I'm 27 now..wow lol) Mark and I saw Cave in Columbia...good show. Next week we're going to KC and Lawrence to see Boris. Boris is edgier than what I'm used to, but from what I've heard, the music is pretty good. Lyrically, I have no idea what they're saying, but I think it's English. Haha.
Some really good movies I've seen this summer: INCEPTION, of course, Salt (my MOM even liked it), Cyrus, Knight and Day.
Finally got the DVD of Southlander, the indie movie with Beck, Beth Orton, Hank Williams III, and others. A really fun movie, and another piece in my Beck Collection.
Going to see The Flaming Lips and Ariel Pink Haunted Graffiti in Columbia in September. Please may it not rain.

I think that covers it. Oh, so sad to hear about that traffic accident on I-44 Thursday. (That's like really close to where I'm at in the world) The pictures on the news were horrific. So sad.

I'll try to post more frequently.

I am going to be working for the 2010 US Census! It's part time and obviously temporary, but I finally got work. As a citizen affected by the economic slump, I am honored to be able to contribute to the Census. The Census has historical and important influence. I've always liked demographics and maps too, so I think it's fitting. I am looking forward to it in the middle of March. Yay! :D

So it's been awhile since I've posted something really substantial. Here's a life update:

I did not get into MU. It was based solely on my GRE scores. I was a little, well, angry about it. Then sad. Now I'm over it.
I'm pretty closed to finished with my class, which, at this point in time, is applicable to nothing as far as school goes. I think I wrote a pretty good final paper though. And I learned quite a bit.
I have an idea about what I'm going to do next. It's still rolling around in my head though.
I have been volunteering on a weekly basis at KOPN, listening to CDs, that were originally on the Reel to Reel tapes, and writing up a short synopsis about what is on the CD. My topic is Women's Issues. It's really interesting. The feminist speakers on a couple of them have been hilarious...especially Germaine Greer and Gloria Kaufman.
I spent Thanksgiving with Mark and his family. It was nice to be with him, and interesting being with a different family than my own for Thanksgiving.
I spent several days without my keys. Thankfully I had backups of the ones I use the most. My dad found them under the couch cushions.
I also spent a long time being sick with *apparently* an infection...had a fever, on antibiotics and the whole bit. Now my nose is running like crazy...I think it's the dust being emitted into the air from the heaters. Ew. It lasted a little over a week...not fun. At least I don't have a lot of obligations.

That's all I can think of. It is 4:45 AM! :p

And no one can sing it like Janis or Alanis ;)

The Brothers Bloom is a really good movie. See it!
God Help The Girl is constantly playing for me right now. If you're a die-hard Belle and Sebastian fan like me, you will love God Help The Girl. Stuart Murdoch is brilliant.
I've watched the first two episodes of More To Love and it's ok...but I think Luke does not have a personality. He seems really dull to me. Honestly, I hope he ends up with the badass tatooed girl...the one who says she may have a rough exterior but is really like a 50s housewife. She's the most real one on the show. And I feel so bad for the girl who is always crying on the commentaries. She probably has a lot of problems and not obviously not a very good self-image, so I bet she gets eliminated simply because you can't love someone else until you love yourself. And the girl who is obsessed with Luke is nuts. I guess I need to see more depth to his personality before I could understand an obsession with him. Ok that was really long.

Now if I could just get back on the health/fitness horse...I just really like sweets. :P

So today I turn 26. And now I can finally be a teenager.*
There's a weird numerology happening today...perhaps it is indicative of a good year ahead. I'd take it. ;) Although the second half of being 25 was awesome.
Today also my pal Beck turns 39...geez he's almost 40!
Mark got me addicted to Black Moth Super Rainbow. Love it.
I take the GRE yet again on July 17...and I have the most dull vocabulary book ever made to work on. I need to practice writing some also...ugh. Plus I gotta get the application process rolling. Oh help.
Still no leads on the job front. Gotta keep on tryin'.

Some People Have Fat Days...I Just Had a Fat Week

I really let myself go this week. Eating like crap, no exercise. Time to get back on the weight loss/control train. I'm just lazy about it. But I feel like I weigh about 500 pounds.
OK, so on Myspace, I was the victim of Phishing. So lesson learned...check the URL every time you log-in!
Also on Myspace, Beck has decided to record songs from The Velvet Underground and make a sort of music video with them. Thing is, the covers suck. I don't think covering those songs are a good idea. Just leave them untouched and not butchered...I mean, it's The Velvet Underground. Beck has been ticking me off lately...first the One Foot In The Grave deal, and now this. How about working on new material!?!?
So this past week Ed McMann (sp?), Farrah Faucet (sp?), Michael Jackson, and now Billy Mays have died. I caught a little bit of the Farrah film on TV...how profound and moving...it is so sad to see what she went through. What a tragic loss.

Anyway, hopefully this week will be better.

So I was totally in a terrible mood...sluggish, unmotivated, tired, a little irritable. And I forced myself to do my exercise tape very, very reluctantly. And then a miracle happened...I got into it...and I felt better. Going into the tape I felt terrible, and now I'm a different person. I feel so much better. This alone is motivation to keep exercising. I started doing my tape again since I've been gaining weight this year...going out to eat a lot with my boyfriend. I think exercise will combat some of those extra calories.

As far as eating and food goes...it doesn't help that my dad bought a gallon of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Usually we don't have ice cream in the house, but he has a tooth infection and it apparently helps soothe that (although the chocolate chips and cookie dough chunks probably don't help a decayed tooth). And part of me really really wants to go to the grocery store or Casey's and get candy and/or cookies and just eat like I just don't care! What is my deal?!

Hopefully the cravings will lessen with the exercise...and maybe, just maybe, willpower.

I have an infection in my gums...upper left in the back, to be exact. Feeling a bit better now that I'm chillin on penicillin lol. There was one moment at the specialist's office (yeah, had to see a specialist) when he touched it I yelled "AHHH!", jumped, and threw my leg out of the chair. I apologized...he thought nothing of it. I guess when you're in the business of gum infections and root canals, your patients are gonna be jumpy when you hit the bad spot.

So today I'm going to the St. Louis Book Fair at West County Mall. I still have two books from last year I have not read. :( This year the purchases will be more health and wellness geared...I want to turn over a new leaf on that one.

I exercised five days this week! I haven't done that in probably over a year! I feel more energetic and not like my heart is heavy lol. Hopefully the motivation will continue.

I watched the Inauguration at Ragtag Theater in Columbia, MO. Rachel on The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC mentioned Columbia on her show Monday night when she mentioned cities hosting Inauguration Watch Parties. It was fun...such a historic, proud moment. I choked up a little when he mentioned in his speech how the US is friends with every country...to me that just makes me really proud of Obama. It is time my generation heard words like that.

I do not believe in trade shows,
but I attended one several months ago.

Infected Again!

I have a raging ear infection...again. I'm on Amoxil, Drops, and Vicodin.

This year I have had:

3 ear infections
2 UTIs
1 upper respiratory infection

What is up? I'm freakin' sickly!

The Vicodin made me a little goofy earlier...there was a similarity with the effects of alcohol...I got very talkative and funny...and I get all sentimental and say "from the heart" stuff...I was all "Dad I want you to know you're a good person...you're the best person I know...putting up with me and mom and my sisters. Not every Dad would drive their 25-year-old daughter to UrgiCare on a Monday morning...and I truly love you for that."

I do not endorse Vicodin, but I need a pain med like it's nobody's business!

About Me: I am 28/m, 6'0", blonde/blue, caucation, and athletic. I have owned a successful business in my past, contracted as a consultant, and worked many odd jobs. I play guitar and I read a lot. I can't kung fu a fortress, but I have practiced martial arts since childhood. I'm too fit and popular to be labeled a nerd, but inside that is what I truly am. Without further ado, here is what I am seeking:

Intelligence: Intellect is a crucial factor for me. I have spent a decade in rigorous research, and no factor weighs more heavily than your mind; that is, after all, what I intend to fall in love with.

Financial: I am business oriented, and your economic status must be secure.
Am I rich? Nope, not even close yet, and you must accept me for who I am without any prospect of money.
Do I care to elaborate on my financial future? Nope - maybe eventually if you contact me, but not here. These details are somewhat unique to me, and describing them may reveal my identity to people I know.

Physical: I am not a body-builder with bulging biceps, but I do work out a full-body routine everyday. My fitness level is not evident at a superficial (clothing) level, but it is undeniable at the pool or in the park. I take care of myself and desire the same. I prefer smaller-framed women, but any athleticism at all is a plus.

Lifestyle: I prefer small, intimate groups of friends. My partying days are long gone and I don't like clubs, raves, swinging, or anything of that sort. I drink maybe twice in a given year. I do smoke cigarettes, and rarely even pot. I don't do hard drugs of any sort - I'm open-minded and have fun, yes, but I'm not stupid or self-destructive. I do not wish to judge, but I AM looking for my match on here. My vice of choice is caffeine (vanilla lattes, specifically). I want somebody who would be comfortable just sitting with me in front of a fire.

Relations: I follow a code of honor. I don't lie (unless it's a white lie), I will never harm a woman, and I don't play mind games.

Religion: Please, no fundamentalist anything. If you spend the time to get to know me, you will understand that while I am spiritual I find blind faith in anything to be laughable.

Future: I want a long-term, potentially lifelong, relationship. This is not a joke - if you fancy your poolboy or daydream about a different guy every night then do not reply. I desire a deep connection, and I view the success of a relationship as how long it lasts. I am also the last male with my family name, and I want it preserved, so I do want children someday.

Bed: I was debating on whether to add this paragraph - I decided to because sex is a major factor in relationships. I'll try anything sexual once with you if you want, even if I have tried it in the past and don't like it. I love oral, giving and receiving. A little kink is good for everybody, but I'm not into the hardcore stuff. I'm not a nymphomaniac, and I'm not abstinent...whenever the mood arises, maybe two or three times per week. I deplore condoms but will make them a consideration if desired. I am also completely free of STDs and intend to stay that way.

If you desire the same things I do, write me - don't just list me as a friend, because so many people just collect friends on here that I will not immediately respond to being added. I am very serious about finding my match, and I am a very real person, so please don't take responses lightly.

I am willing to move anywhere if it means finding love. For this reason, you must have your own place - I will be packing up to be with you. While I don't expect to just hop right into bed with you, I have no intention of sleeping in my car. For reasons I won't discuss here (ask me), I am not concerned with finding a job - put simply, I will not need one long enough to justify the search. You must trust to be with me, and you must be capable of providing support for a few months. I'm absolutely not rich yet, I will arrive with little more than the shirt on my back...I cannot express why this isn't a concern on here, but it is not and should not be for you. If we make it even a few months, everything financial will drastically change for the better.

I plan on talking extensively (online, on a web-cam, and/or on the phone) with you before any commitments are made. I'm logic-minded, and I therefore must know we are a match beforehand - this also gives you a chance to know I'm right for you.

A Decade

I cannot believe this album is already ten years old. It's my favorite album of all time. There's a pure, magical, mystical quality about it that just resonates within me. Mutations is a musical masterpiece and I loved it since the first listen on that bus ride in Washington DC. I got through some bad times with the help of listening to the songs...it made carrying on with life a little easier. As it also continues to do.
